What the reason some westerns learn Chinese?

I am an English learner in Taiwan, having studied it for four years.

Is there any Chinese course in university(college)?
I am curious about why some westerns want to learn Chinese,
which is interesting? or that is necessary for your work(business)?

Business opportunities mostly.

I want to learn Chinese, but it is very difficult. Most major universities have courses in Chinese.
