I want to know what profession to go to so i want to ask, what work is left in either theoretical or experimental physics. What with string theory unable to be proven, i think, along with loop quantum gravity, what else is left for the future of physics?

You should pick up a copy of "The problem with physics" by Lee Smolin, where he discusses this, very issue, but he's optimistic, that there's other approaches to unified theories outside of string theory. In modern theoretical physics there really is all to play for, physics is far from complete and it's certainly a fascinating time. Here's the wikipedia page on unsolved physics problems and it's certainly healthy and varied.

It may seem that physics has little future with it's seeming current lack of process, but all it may need is that next Einstein or Newton to provide that spark of imagination to push into a whole new exciting direction.
